2025 Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan

The Montana Technological University Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan (Master Plan) represents the culmination of a six-month planning process to develop a comprehensive vision for future physical growth of the institution. The Master Plan is a direct result of hard work and dedication from numerous administrators, faculty, staff, students, community members, and professionals with a focused goal of developing a realistic, fact-based, actionable plan to guide the future development of the University.

Through strategic relocation, meticulous renovation, innovative new construction, and site improvements, we aim to breathe new life into many buildings across campus including Main Hall, Engineering Hall, Library, Student Union Building (SUB), Mining Geology Building, Mill Building, and the courtyard. Aligned with our university's vision, mission, and goals, each project underwent a rigorous review. View the full presentation of our Facilities draft plan »

NAC Report

In early spring of 2021, Montana Technological University engaged NAC to conduct a space analysis and improvements study. The goal of this study was to assess and analyze the usage of buildings throughout the campus and develop a long-range vision for synergistic adjacencies and building improvements. During the planning effort, stakeholder meetings were held with staff, faculty, and administration to gather a broad range of input including campus leadership, faculty, and staff. The assessment focused primarily on academic, student, and support service spaces.
